What is TAAP?

The Training Academy for Addiction Professionals is a training consortium founded in 2015 to address training barriers for addiction counseling training.


How is TAAP different from other training consortiums?

TAAP focuses on training in all areas including rural communities and will receive applications for entrance to training at any time.  TAAP focuses on training individuals in all areas of required competencies and offers comprehensive training with qualified clinical supervisors.


What treatment modalities are offered in TAAP?

All levels of care are represented in TAAP.  Your location and training opportunities may be determined by your residence and training opportunities.  Some of the modalities and strategies will include:


Are you a Social Worker?

Do you have an interest in becoming an addiction counselor?  Contact TAAP for an unofficial transcript review to identify the classes necessary for licensure including training hours.  Adding addiction counseling to the practice of social work enhances North Dakota's workforce.


How many training hours will I need as a Social Worker?

An LMSW (Licensed Master's Social Worker) will require 960 hours of approved clinical training.

An LCSW (Licensed Clinical Social Worker) will require 350 hours of approved clinical training.
